Before I share amazing news on Rocco’s progress…
I have to thank all of YOU for the love and support you have given us all on this journey with him, since he was diagnosed with autism ( almost two years ago )
Thank you for allowing me to feel safe and supported, while sharing his journey. I remember debating for a while if I was ever going to share that he was diagnosed. I was scared to, I didn’t want to look back one day and regret sharing. But I don’t one bit.
Because spreading awareness is so IMPORTANT and I know it helps. I have gotten so many messages from people telling me because of me sharing, they have now learned what autism is or some have even went on to get their child evaluated. Social media can be the devil but can be beautiful because of things like this.
I am so happy to help others by sharing my beautiful little boys journey <3
I know some parents with kids on the spectrum feel so ALONE and I get it. I am happy to give them so comfort and to help them feel not so alone.
Since 18.5 months this little man has been in therapy. His therapy includes OT/Speech, he goes to a place for just socialization, a preschool for kids on the spectrum. He has a TSS at home 2x a week, OT and Speech at school, as well as outpatient for Speech and OT.
He is BUSY. I am blessed that I can be the one to take him to all these therapies and to be there, and I am grateful my husband and I make the most amazing TEAM! We do all we can for him, we want him to thrive, we will do whatever it takes. We are so blessed to have this little man, who lights up our lives!
Rocco has had AMAZING progress the last year. He started talking in March 2017, then he really took off speech wise this past summer.
He is NOW at a 4 year old level!!!!! We got that amazing news two weeks ago. He was at a 18.5 month old level still, the beginning of 2017. He has just progressed and took off! He now will no longer be getting therapy at home with the TSS. We are just so GRATEFUL for how much progress he has made, all around!
All the therapy, love and support has paid off. We are his biggest fans and we are just so happy. Really that was the best christmas gift we ever got!
We will always be his biggest advocates <3
He still has struggles socially that we continue to work on, routine, and eating. He does get food therapy and it has been helping, which is awesome! He will start getting physical therapy, since he still struggles with stairs, stepping off sidewalks and some other stuff. We are excited about that, and to see his progress!
SO thank you all for letting me share his journey and I was so happy to share this news! I will keep you all updated as always, as he continues to progress more. We are also debating kindergarten this fall, as we are meeting with the school he would be going to possibly, next month. I will keep you all updated on that, it scares me and makes me sad that he is even close to kindergarten!
Before I go, I have to share Rocco’s snow day fun! He went sledding for the first time (we had therapists help us to get him to try, he loved it after being scared! ) and he built a snowman!
We are so grateful to his therapists that come to the home, as they are SO great to our little man. It was so great they helped get Rocco to go down his sled for first time. So, we are excited for the next snow day!
Thank you all again! Any questions you ever have, please ask anytime! <3
