I talk about how much my little man Rocco is thriving, and he is SO SO much. Especially the last 3 months, he has just taken off! His speech is PHENOMENAL! He can talk in sentences now and is a little chatter box! He has progressed with E! He is not upset anymore when she cries, hangs out with her, and more! He truly loves her, it melts my heart. The first two months when she was born, were very very hard. Whoa, happy that is in the past!
I do want to do a post on all the therapy he is currently getting, which is a lot. And we also have plans for school next fall, that might be a different route than what we planned!
BUT one thing that I had to come on here and share today is something that happens to US all the time. I swear every time I am out with Rocco, or all of us are together, someone says something. I get it, some people just think he is acting hyper or don’t know why is he is flapping his arms and making loud noises.
PLEASE JUST BE AWARE. There are sooooooooo many kids on the spectrum in this world today, and lots of them do stim, and Rocco does a lot in public. He is overwhelmed and that is just how he handles it. He is smiling and so happy, when he is doing it! But people are looking at him weird and then they SAY things like why is he doing that, or other crazy comments.
Why would you say anything? I would never go up to a parent and say something, even before I knew what autism was. It hurts my heart a little and it does make me angry. I had another person say something about it at the store yesterday, when little man and I grocery shopped together.
I only share this to spread more awareness, not to be rude or take out anger. I just want people to be more aware. I want all parents with kids on the spectrum to not feel alone <3
These kids are amazing, not LESS. We are so beyond blessed for this little man. He shows us how amazing and beautiful the world is through HIS EYES <3
We do all we can for him, we have had him in therapy since he was 18.5 months and we are so so grateful for all the services he gets.
Rocco, you are a light in the world. Mommy and daddy know you are going to do amazing things! We are here to support you every step of the way, and so excited to watch <3
Thank you all for the love and support always for our little man! I have been blessed to share his journey with you all <3
