Happy Wednesday! I hope the week is going good for all of you so far. The weather is cold and rainy here this week, which is a bummer. Rocco loves to get outside, and it has not been nice enough out so far this week. Not looking good either, ha! Oh well, soon the steady nice days will be here!
I told you guys I would update you on Rocco and his news!
Well, I have two amazing things to share, as he blew me away the other day!
Today, he was sitting on the window ledge watching the rain. I was singing a song to him, and then he did the cutest thing.
He said “Come sit, mommy.”
I couldn’t believe it! Rocco has just started to say sentences, and it’s amazing how much he is adding to his vocabulary. I was SO proud and of course tearing up.
We have been working hard to get him to pair two to three words together, and it’s paying off.
I’m so so proud of him, grateful for good therapists, and so grateful to be his mom. I repeat so many things over and over to him, to get him to repeat words. It’s paying off, he’s just taking off with this speech!
It’s not easy some days when you see your child struggle. But moments like this are the best! One day at a time, that I know.
He really is starting to take off with the speech, which is key to help him with his social challenges he has, especially with peers. Communication is key, so once he can really communicate with us, that will help us understand why he gets upset.
As I mentioned before, he still is adjusting to Elisabetta. But he is doing so much better with her, compared to the first 2 months, those were rough. Granted he does get upset if she cries sometimes. It really depends, if he is over tired he can’t handle her cry, but there are times she cries and he just holds his ears and is ok. So, we are making progress there for sure!
I tell you one thing, that little girl watches his every move and adores him. Anytime he looks at her, she gets the biggest smile! It melts my heart!
He does love playing with his sisters toys, haha! I see lots fo toy fighting one day. I cracked up when I saw him in her toy yard the other day. She was sleeping, and he was having fun with her toys!
We are very excited that Rocco will be attending a school called HOPE, for kids on the spectrum! He will start end of May or early June, and we are thrilled! We heard great things about HOPE, and decided to make the move to get him in there.
Now, Rocco has been in the bubble life and that is OVER! He starts this week ( tomorrow actually ) gettign back out to therapy!
He will go to Stepping Stones Tuesday and Thursday, and HOPE two of the other days, we still have to wait and see what days. He will have therapy at home 3 days a week as well, as he does now.
We are very excited, as at HOPE he will have the speech, OT, and ABA! ABA will be new for him, and we have heard it is going to be great for him, and we will see so much more progress with the ABA for him.
I am happy he will be getting out again, happy about his new school, and know this will be great.
As you probably can guess, that means daycare/preschool is done. He was going two days a week, and having the TSS go there. She has been coming here three days a week at home instead, and that has been great. We decided to remove him from daycare/preschool for now, as it is best for him. HOPE is what he needs, and will be amazing for him!
We are very excited and once he starts, I will let you all know how he is doing and how he likes it!
So, that’s the scoop on my little man! I really can’t believe he will be 4 next month either! CRAZY! Can time slow down please?!
Well, therapists will be here soon! Off to start this day! See you all Friday, as I am sure I will not be popping in tomorrow!
Oh, and little miss says Happy Wednesday! She rocked her 4 month shots yesterday and was pretty proud!
